On November 7, Minister Yu Guangzhou held bilateral talks with Mr. Ho Chee Pong, Director General of Singapore Customs Service in Singapore.
The two sides reviewed and spoke highly of the cooperative relationship between customs administrations of the two countries. Minister Yu put forward five proposals on furthering the cooperation. Firstly, the cooperation between the customs administrations along the Belt and Road should be strengthened, by achieving mutual recognition of controls, mutual assistance of enforcement and mutual exchange of information to realize customs connectivity between the two countries and among the regions. Secondly, cooperation on Single Window should be explored, by sharing the experiences and forming a cooperative framework. Thirdly, the AEO mutual recognition cooperation should be enhanced with an increased influence by expanding beneficiaries to the AEO enterprises and introducing new facilitating measures. Fourthly, cooperation on trade security and facilitation should be deepened and be gradually expanded from the two countries to the ASEAN countries. Fifthly, the two sides should strengthen the experience exchanges in building the special customs control zones, deepen and highlight the customs cooperation in the Third Government Project between the two countries.
