Minister YU Guangzhou of China Customs met with Thomas Swabihi Moyane, Commissioner of South Africa Revenue in Xiamen on September 3, 2017,

Both sides made positive comments on the bilateral customs cooperation. Minister YU raised 5 propositions on strengthening bilateral customs cooperation, including implementing the Memorandum of Cooperation between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the South African Revenue Service of the Republic of South Africa, exploring to establish a twinning program, consolidating capacity building cooperation by organizing more training programs for African customs officers, improving customs statistics cooperation for the sound development of trade, deepening enforcement cooperation with a particular focus on the smuggling of drugs, endangered species, as well as commercial fraud, and promoting cooperation within multilateral frameworks.

Commissioner Moyane fully agreed with Minister YU’s propositions .

Mr. ZOU Zhiwu, Vice Minister of China Customs and Mr. ZHANG Guangzhi, member of the CPC Leadership Group of GACC, also attended the meeting.
