On June 12, Qingdao Customs Technology Center identified a large number of anti-obesity drugs concealed in an inbound express parcel intercepted earlier at Dagang Customs House.
At the inspection site, the inbound parcel declared as “sample cosmetics” was found abnormal under CT inspection and, through out-of-box audit, customs officers found one box of facial mask and 360 bags of drugs, totaling 1,800 tablets without essential information of manufacturer, approval number and date of manufacture, allegedly as a “three-no drug”.
The state has strict control over drug importation. Without drug approval certificate, the import is subject to relevant legal liability. By now, the seized diet drugs are under further investigation.
