Guangzhou Customs District destroyed approximately 200,000 infringing products a few days before this year’s World Intellectual Property Day (which is observed annually on April 26). Some right holders were invited to attend the event in which such items as clothes, shoes, hats, automobile parts, foods and electrical products were smashed.
In the first quarter of 2015, Guangzhou Customs District intercepted 89 infringement cases in which 436,000 products with a street value of RMB 2.506 million were seized, protecting the legitimate rights of more than 30 right holders ( for example, “ADIDAS”) from over 10 countries and regions.
