On August 24, Vice Minister Sun Yibiao met with Mr.Amrin, Vice Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Finance Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Beijing.

Vice Minister Sun and Vice Chairman Amrin had an in-depth exchange of views and reached consensus on the following matters: the status quo of China-Kazakhstan trade; the cooperation of Trust Project and the signing of related documents; clearing more kinds of agricultural products at more piloting ports through the “Green Channel” and promoting to sign relevant cooperation documents; and cooperation on the application of border surveillance equipment.

The two sides reached consensus on the following issues. Firstly, to initiate “Trust” pilot project by the end of this year, demonstrating facilitation and promoting compliance. Secondly, to sign the agreement on facilitating the clearance of agricultural products as soon as possible, laying a legal foundation for further cooperation on “Green Channel” clearance for agricultural products. Thirdly, to crack down on illicit trade at the border, creating a more facilitated environment for compliant enterprises. Fourthly, to further the cooperation on the application of container inspection equipment at ports to effectively ensure border security.
