Minister Yu Guangzhou Attends the Fifth China-Japan-Korea Tripartite Customs Heads’ Meeting

On October 31, Minister Yu Guangzhou attended the Fifth China-Japan-Korea Tripartite Customs Heads’ Meeting in SeoulKorea.

 

After a review of the achievements of the tripartite customs cooperation, the three parties had an in-depth exchange of views on cooperation in fields of customs procedure, Authorized Economic Operator(AEO), intellectual property rights protection and law enforcement.

 

Minister Yu made four proposals on enhancing tripartite customs cooperation. Firstly, the customs development strategies of the three countries should be aligned with each other, conforming with the developing trend of the tripartite cooperation. Secondly, cooperation in major areas should be deepened to promote compliance and trade facilitation. Thirdly, the cooperation fields should be broadened following the principle of mutual recognition of controls, mutual assistance of enforcement and mutual exchange of information. Fourthly, the three parties should make joint efforts to take part in the regional and multilateral cooperation and provide the best practices for the customs cooperation worldwide.

 

After the meeting, the Minutes of the Fifth China-Japan-Korea Tripartite Customs Heads’ Meeting was signed.
