Under the control of Shantou Customs District, a batch of ice cream products, 1.3 tons and 219,000 yuan worth, made by Meizhou Yili Frozen Food Company, were exported to Indonesia from the port of Meizhou on April 20. By statistics, in the first quarter, Meizhou Customs House cleared totally 2,765 tons of ice cream outbound to the “Belt and Road”-involved countries/regions, registering the cargo value of 39.7 million yuan, up 158% and 278% year-on-year respectively.
During the COVID-19 epidemic period, with the export activity reduced to certain extent, Meizhou Customs House facilitated the Company’s ice-cream clearance by making laboratory test of the products in advance and expediting the certification service so as to complete all procedures 2 workdays earlier.
Generally, the Customs provides the “one-on-one” supports for local food exporters, involving guidance on their anti-epidemic measures, field inspection and services at their operational sites, control of risks amid their resumption of work and production.
