Minister Yu Guangzhou and Vice Minister Sun Yibiao Meet with Commissioner of Korea Customs Service

On August 24, Minister Yu Guangzhou and Vice Minister Sun Yibiao met with Mr. Kim Nak-hoe, Commissioner of Korea Customs Service, in Beijing.

 

The two sides positively evaluated the trade partnership and Customs cooperation between the two countries, and had an in-depth exchange of views and reached consensus on implementation of China-Korea Free Trade Agreement, AEO mutual recognition, and cooperation regarding customs enforcement and cross-border e-commerce.

 

Minister Yu put forward four proposals on furthering cooperation. Firstly, focusing on the consensus of the meeting, to make an adequate preparation for the implementation of China-Korea Free Trade Agreement. Secondly, centering on trade facilitation cooperation, to foster the cooperation on AEO mutual recognition. Thirdly, concentrating on cooperation on the basis of mechanism, to actively launch joint enforcement operations. Fourthly, converging on new areas, to cooperate on promoting cross-border e-commerce.

 

After the meeting, the two sides signed the Action Plan of Implementing Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Human Resources Development between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and Korea Customs Service, and the Letter of Cooperative Intent Regarding Promoting Cross-border E-commerce between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and Korea Customs Service.
