Nanjing Customs Intercepts Quarantine Pest—Termite at Lianyungang Port

Customs quarantine identifies the termite--Coptotermes testaceus.

 

Recently, Lianyungang Customs House, subordinate to Nanjing Customs District, intercepted a variety of live pests from a batch of logs imported from South America, including Coptotermes testaceus—a kind of termite, belonging to the quarantine pests.

 

According to the Customs Quarantine Lab, this kind of termite was seized for the first time at Lianyungang Port. Upon the identification, Lianyungang Customs immediately took the emergency measure of quarantine fumigation over those imported logs.
