On February 24, through field inspection by Fuzhou Customs officers, 45.5 tons and USD190,400 worth of live fish were exported by ship from Ningde, Fujian Province to South Korea.
Marine-cultured fish is Ningde’s featured agri-food for export, which is widely sold to South Korea, Japan and other countries and regions.
In order to ensure the smooth export during the epidemic period, Ningde Customs House real-timely monitors South Korea’s entry restrictions on aquatic animals, ships and personnel from China, giving analysis and warning to local exporters by using online WeChat APP. It also helps fish farmers with risk management and epidemic control to ensure that export fish meet the access requirements of the countries of destination. Besides, the Customs House has opened a green lane for export agri-food, conducting online clearance formalities and allowing the consignor to be absent from the inspection site, so as to minimize clearance time and business burden.
By statistics, from Spring Festival till February 26, Ningde Customs House cleared 15 batches of live fish, totaling 171.5 tons worth USD860,000.
