Customs interception of the quarantine pest—citrus fruit flies
Recently, Shenyang Taoxian Airport Customs House intercepted more than 100 kilograms of fruits in inbound luggage from Vietnam and found the fruits with live maggots, which were finally identified to be citrus fruit flies, a kind of quarantine pests.
Citrus fruit flies, harmful to fruits and vegetables, are the quarantine pest closely monitored by port quarantine in China. At present, the Airport Customs has detained and destroyed those fruits by law.
