On August 14, Gongbei Customs transferred a number of endangered animal products, including 6 specimens of hawksbill turtles, 1 red coral, 1 crocodile skin, 5 shells of giant clams, to Pearl River Estuary Chinese White Dolphin National Nature Reserve in Guangdong Province.
Those endangered animal products were all seized by the Customs through passenger and mail inspection in recent years. Among them, the red coral weighs 7.04 kilograms, high in ornamental value, and the crocodile skin is national second-class endangered animal product.
The Customs conducted the transfer in accordance with China Customs administrative measures on the properties involved in law enforcement and with the regulations of relevant authorities including Endangered Species Import and Export Management Office of China.
