As per Shantou Customs statistics, this January, the subordinate Jieyang Customs House cleared 4,973 tons of canned bamboo shoots outbound, worth 70.95 million Yuan in total, up 9.2% and 9.8% year-on-year respectively, making a good start for the export in 2019.

Jieyang is the biggest base of bamboo-shoots produce in Guangdong Province. By taking its functional advantages, Jieyang Customs fully upholds the local agricultural economy, helping the producers with pesticide residue control and pest control to ensure the quality and safety of canned bamboo shoots, and giving policy and technical supports to relevant enterprises in the “one-on-one” manner to achieve their standardization of production processes.

Besides, this Customs actively helps the enterprises cope with external technical barriers to trade (TBT), expanding export markets and stabilizing export volume. So far, 10 exporters in Jieyang have passed the compliance certification for exporting low-acid canned foods to the USA; and their exports of canned bamboo shoots thereto totaled 1,168 tons and 16.42 million Yuan in January, up 4.8% and 4.3% year-on-year respectively.
