The 6th meeting of China-Vietnam Cooperation Committee on Land Border Port Management takes place in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The sixth meeting of the Cooperation Committee on Land Border Port Management between China and Vietnam took place in Hanoi, Vietnam from December 18 to 21, 2018.

This meeting was co-hosted by Mr. Zhang Guangzhi, the Chinese chairman of the Cooperation Committee, CPC Committee Member of GACC and Head of National Office of Port Administration of China, and  Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, the Vietnamese chairman of the Cooperation Committee, member of the central committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and commander of the Vietnamese border forces.

The two sides summed up and spoke highly of the achievements made by the Committee over the past five years, and exchanged their views on such issues as further playing the role of the Committee in bilateral cooperation on opening, construction and management of their land-border ports and jointly increasing the application of science and technology, carrying out regulatory innovations, building demonstration ports and facilitating customs clearance at ports, with broad consensus reached between them. Additionally, the two sides visited the port of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Vietnam.

During the meeting, Mr. Zhang also met with Mr. Xiong Bo, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam.
