Chongqing Customs Detects First Case of Import Chikungunya Fever Disease
10/16/2018

A few days ago, through entry health quarantine conducted by the Custom House at Chongqing Jiangbei Airport, one fever passenger from Thailand was diagnosed with Chikungunya fever, marking the first case of this infectious disease detected in Chongqing Customs District.

The epidemic of Chikungunya fever, spread by mosquito bite, mainly occurs in Africa, Southeast Asia and South America.

Recently, Chongqing Customs frequently detected such infectious diseases as dengue and malaria in inbound passengers. From now on, the Customs will keep intensifying the epidemic detection on entry and environmental disinfection at ports. The Customs also reminds that inbound/outbound passengers should timely learn recent epidemic information from Customs websites and other reliable sources and that, if having fever or other discomforts, they should actively declare to the Customs for timely treatment.
