Several days ago, a trading company declared to Dongdu Customs House, Xiamen Customs District for importing curl-up PET and PE films made in Japan, totaling 62.42 tons and 13.94 tons respectively. Through field inspection, customs officers found the products aging, contaminated and damaged, suspecting them as solid waste.

On March 4, Xiamen Customs Technical Center identified that this batch of films, below China’s import standard on film products, belonged to the solid waste prohibited from import.

Now, this case is under customs anti-smuggling investigation.
