On May 13, Vice Minister Zhang Jiwen met in GACC with Mr. Víctor Manuel Villalobos Arámbula, Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mexico.

The two sides spoke highly about the bilateral economic and trade relations and the cooperation on customs, inspection and quarantine between China and Mexico. They addressed in depth the topics such as exporting Mexico's banana, sorghum, swine offal to China, registering Mexican meat establishments in China, exporting China's honey products to Mexico and recovering China's frozen shrimp to Mexico. After the meeting, Vice Minister Zhang and Secretary Villalobos jointly signed the Protocol of Phytosanitary Requirements for the Export of Banana Fruits from Mexico to China between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development of the United Mexican States.

Mr. José Luis Bernal, Mexican Ambassador to China, also participated in the meeting.
