On January 23, Vice Minister Wang Lingjun met with Mr. Gian Marco Centinaio, Minister of Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and Tourism of the Italian Republic, and his delegation.

Both sides exchanged views on the issues such as the quarantine access of imported pears and pork from Italy to China, joint training and cooperation in 2019. After the meeting, Mr. Wang Lingjun and Mr. Gian Marco Centinaio signed the Protocol on the Phytosanitary requirements for the export of hazelnuts from Italy to China between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and Tourism of the Italian Republic and the Protocol between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Agricultural, Food, Forestry Policies and Tourism of the Italian Republic on safety and sanitary requirments for Italian alfalfa hay to be exported to China.

Mr. Ettore Francesco Sequi, Italian ambassador to China, also attended the meeting.
